I think this category is the most crowded this year and the strongest.
Casey Affleck- Great actor and I loved Gone Baby Gone this past year but I have not gotten a chance to see The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Philip Seymour Hoffman- Again, I haven't gotten a chance to see Charlie Wilson's War but he is one of my top favorite actors.
Hal Holbrook- Into The Wild was a fantastic movie and I felt very snubbed by the academy this year. Holbrook gave a deeply touching performance in Into The Wild and I'm glad it got recognized by this nomination.
Javier Bardem- This man is for sure the front-runner for his performance in No Country For Old Men. He did amazingly and gave a chilling performance that was required. If he wins, I will be satisfied.
Tom Wilkinson- I want Tom Wilkinson to win the award. He made Michael Clayton for me. He outacted George Clooney and the rest of the cast. I would love nothing more than him and Cate Blanchett to share supporting acting awards this year.

While my money is on Bardem for the award I would love to see Wilkinson win it. He's well deserving of his nomination and it makes me so happy to see him finally get some notable credit. He's brilliant.
Bardem did in fact win. I'm glad Tilda Swinton got hers though!!
