Let me just get this entry out of the way. This is the category I feel strongest about.
George Clooney: I liked Michael Clayton. I liked George Clooney in it. I loved his final scene in the movie. However, I didn't feel blown away by his performance. I felt he was outshined by Tom Wilkinson in that movie.
Johnny Depp: He's a very fun actor. Sweeney Todd was very enjoyable. He has had much better performances though.
Tommy Lee Jones: I gotta be honest. I haven't seen In the Valley of Elah
Viggo Mortenson: This was my favorite Viggo perfomance (yes, even better than Hidalgo). Eastern Promises is a very chilling and powerful movie. He gave a very strong and occasionally brave performance. And if you've seen it, there is one scene that will stick with you.
Daniel Day Lewis: BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR. Simply amazing. There Will Be Blood grabs you by the nuts, holds a tight grip for nearly 3 hours, and then rips your nuts off, so to speak. Daniel Day Lewis is just absolutely spectacular. If he does not win the Oscar, someone will get hurt.
