Oscars passed

The Oscars came and went which means that my blog will be turned into movie reviews. But this post will be some of my cheers and jeers for the oscars.

Cheers: Best Cinematography
There Will Be Blood had the most amazing cinematography that I've seen all year. My favorite shot was Daniel running holding his son and the camera pans back and forth between him and the exploding oil. I would make love to that shot. Sweet, sweet love.

Jeers: Best Special Effects
Cmon. Transformers!

Cheers: Best Actress
Marion Colliard deserved that oscar as much as Daniel Day Lewis deserved his. I'm very happy the academy recognized her performance.

Jeers: Best Original Screenplay
Juno's screenplay made me vomit. I am even more upset about the BAFTA's because Juno's screenplay beat The Lives of Others. REALLY? The Lives of Others is a brilliantly written and directed and acted movie. The last line in that movie "No, it's for me" is one of the most touching lines I have ever heard.

Cheers: Jon Stewart
He had me in tears from laughter the whole night.

Jeers: Best Director and Best Picture
Although, I liked No Country a great deal, this should have been Paul Thomas Anderson's year.

Cheers: Best Supporting Actress
Although I was cheering for Blanchett's Dylan, Tilda Swinton definetly deserved it as well and her acceptance speech made me chuckle.

Jeers: Oscar pool
I lost the oscar pool at my friend's oscar party.
